S.E.T. Polytechnic is one of the fastest-growing technical institutes in this region. The campus is among the best of the contemporary institutes here — fully equipped with every facility, keeping in mind healthy teaching and a pollution-free environment.
The college is affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Eight diploma branches run the full prescribed syllabus, supported by branch-specific laboratories and a faculty that stays with students through the three years.
For most of our students, this is the first technical qualification in the family. That shapes how we teach: steady internal assessment, practical work that is actually done rather than signed off, and a placement cell that begins preparation soon after admission.

A vision born from hardship.
Sri Shivananjegowda was born on 5 May 1955 in Naranapura, a remote village under Melukote Hobli in Pandavapura Taluk, Mandya District, into a humble and respected agriculturist family. His father, Sri Boregowda, worked the land; his mother, Smt. Sakamma, kept their home.
Like most parents, Sri and Smt. Boregowda hoped their son would have the education to become a doctor, an engineer, or a civil servant. But the family's difficult economic circumstances made even the basics — textbooks, uniforms — hard to provide.
Looking back on those years, Sri Shivananjegowda recognised clearly how poverty had limited his own education. That realisation never left him, and it became the foundation of a long-term, deliberate vision: to dedicate himself to the education of poor rural students, so that no child's prospects would be limited the way his own once were.
He shared this ambition with close friends, who suggested forming a trust to make it possible — and agreed, in principle, to give it their fullest support. The result was an institution built on a single, central object: to establish educational institutions, including professional courses, for the benefit of rural students.
